Share Prices Data

The Share Prices Data (3-SPD) comprises of all key variables from the trading history of the firms listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. The data covers more than 20 years. This dataset has the following characteristics:

  • Available from the year 1999 to 2022 for all firms listed on the PSX.

  • The data is arranged in a long format, that is suitable for direct use in majority of the statistical softwares such as Stata, R, Eviews, SPSS, or others.

  • The data is available on daily frequnecy

  • The data is available on weekly frequnecy

  • The data is available on monthly frequency

  • The data is available on annual frequnecy

  • The data is available in Excel, Stata, CSV, or any other desired format.

  • Company identifiers include both companies names and PSX assigned symbols

  • Numeric identifiers for industrial classification are included

Pricing of the Financial Data

This dataset is available at extremely affordable rates. The primary factor in setting such a low price is the consideration of the low purchasing power of students / researchers in Pakistan. Therefore, this dataset costs as low as Rs. 7000 for a period of 8 years plus Rs.2000 if the index and risk-free data are also needed. See the following example of data pricing:

As an example, please consider a data order for 8 years.

Variables needed: (1) Symbol  (2) Closing price  (3) Opening Price (4) High (5) Low (6) Index Returns (7) Risk-free rate

Years : 2011 – 2018

Since the data fee is Rs. 7000 for 8 years, the fee is Rs. 7000 for the share prices Data. The data order asks for two additional variables, that are index returns and risk free rates, these two variables will have a fee of Rs. 2000 for 8-years. As a bonus, we shall merge these variables with the share prices data on dates for free.
